Book Lover's Bingo ends Friday, April 17! So bring in your completed Bingo cards by the close of library hours on Friday to get registered for our drawing for a gift certificate from the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association.

Today - stop by the library at 1:00 pm for the Must-see Movie in April: "O Brother, Where Art Thou." Or come in at noon for Books Sandwiched In for snacks and a book review, and then stay for the film on the big screen!

Test Prep Online - new @ the library!

The Shenandoah Public Library is pleased to announce that we now offer online test preparation through our website. LearningExpress Library has online practice tests, courses, and e-books for many standard tests, including ACT, ASVAB, GED, CDL, Nursing Entrance Exam, TOEFL, and many others. It also has courses to improve your job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills. To get started, simply click on the link on our main page (with the lightbulb) or go to our Online/Downloadable Content page and follow the instructions. Severe Weather Awareness Week

April 6-10, 2009 - In honor of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the library is giving away a 4-person, 3-day Emergency Preparedness Kit worth $200! Photo 101 - Lunch Learning @ the Library!

This week we have a special series of programs to share! Three digital photography experts have offered to share tips and tricks of their trade. Bring your lunch and your photography questions to the library auditorium! On Thursday, April 2, 2009 at noon, Bill LeVere will cover the basics. Lee Hayes will discuss framing and printing at noon on Friday, April 3, 2009. At 2 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2009, Mike Harvey will share his love of wildlife photography. All 3 workshops are free and open to the public, but we ask that participants sign up in advance at the library desk.

BSI & Must-See Movie

This month's Books Sandwiched In program will feature Judy Braymen sharing about Alexander McCall Smith's books. Drop in with your lunch and hear all about it Thursday, March 19 at noon! Then, at 1:00, you can stay for the March Must-See Movie - a John Wayne classic set in Ireland. The Quiet Man is free and open to the public - and the popcorn is on us.

Teens - Dueling DVD Duos

Teen Tech Week is almost here! Starting Monday come to the library to vote for your favorite DVD Duos. The library will purchase the top two winning duos. Vote early and often - you can vote once a day! Check out the table in the teen area or the teen page on the website for more details about the duos. Come in and Press Play at your library.
