Book Lover's BINGO

It's back! Once again, we're playing Book Lover's BINGO at the library. Come in to pick up your BINGO card, then read books to match the categories between March 2 and April 17, 2009. When you've got BINGO, turn your card in to be entered in the Grand Prize drawing. If you have questions, just stop by and ask, call us at 712-246-2315, or e-mail shencirc@heartland.net. Play Dominoes

This week's cozy Saturday will be Dominoes for Beginners. Lenny Drake will teach participants how to play Mexican Run dominoes, and then play will begin! Make sure to call ahead to sign up. The event starts Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 pm.

TumbleTalkingBooks

New at the library website: TumbleTalkingBooks. You can listen to audiobooks streamed to you through your computer. There are both fiction and non-fiction titles, classics, and books for kids. Are You Game? - Tomorrow!

Teens - it's time for another Are You Game? program. Come to the library between 2 and 3 on Wed., Feb. 25, 2009, for the games, snacks, and fun you know you love! See you there!

Cozy Saturdays

If you signed up for Beginning Knitting this week, make sure to come to the library auditorium at 2 pm for Sonya Jones's presentation. All of the slots are full for this week's program, but we still have openings for next week's "Dominoes for Beginners" with Lenny Drake. Call or visit the library to sign up for this fun event!

Dr. Zhivago - Must See Movie

Looking for a little Russian romance? On Thursday, Feb. 19th, 2009, the Must See Movie program will present Dr. Zhivago. The movie will start at 1 pm. This classic film tells a tale of tragic love in the frozen Siberian steppes. Snacks will be provided, but filmgoers are encouraged to bring cushions for the chairs.

The Roast with the Most!

On Saturday, Feb. 14, come learn how to reach the heart of that special someone with a special roast. The Fareway Meat Department will be offering a class we call Roasting 101 in the library auditorium at 2 pm as part of the Cozy Saturdays series. Samples will be provided, and everyone is welcome to attend. No registration necessary!

Cozy Saturday - Genealogy

There are still some slots available in Carolyn Steinbrink's Beginning Genealogy class, held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2009. This event kicks off our Cozy Saturdays series. Every Saturday in February, the library will offer a program designed to let you learn something as you while away the afternoon. Beginning Genealogy will show you how to start your family tree.
